Sweet & Spicy Chicken Wings

You’re not going to believe your taste buds after sinking your teeth into this recipe for sweet & spicy chicken wings with a lush green side salad.


What you’ll need!

2 lb chicken wings 
2 tbsp oil (I used grape seed oil but any oil will do)
2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp pepper
Spring onions/green onions finely chopped
Sesame seeds

GLAZE;


1 cup soy sauce
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup honey
3 cloves garlic minced
3 tbsp ginger pressed
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 tbsp chilli flakes

THEN;

1.Pre-heat oven to 400ºF and place a wire rack over a baking sheet or improvise like I did, wings should be raised for heat to circulate around them
2.Pat wings dry then place in bowl, drizzle, mix and evenly coat with oil, salt and pepper 
3.Place wings on the wire rack
4.Place wings in oven for 35-45 minutes until golden brown, crispy and cooked through. (flip wings after 20 minutes)
5.For glaze, combine all the ingredients in a bowl
6.Add to saucepan and bring to a simmer 
7.Reduce for 10 minutes until it has a syrupy consistency  
8.Once cooked, place wings in a clean bowl and coat with sweet and spicy glaze and toss
9.Top wings with sesame seeds and green onion


SALAD;
1.Add mixed greens to a large bowl
2.Use 1 tbsp of sweet and spicy glaze 
3.Add 2 tbsp spoons balsamic vinegar
4.Add 1/4 cup of orange juice 
5.Add 2 tbsp olive oil
6.Salt and pepper to taste
7.Wisk together
